Lexington By The Bay

Our customers designed this for the front door of their beach house on the coast of Virginia.

Karla worked with Macy and Dan Coffey to realize their vision of a window that symbolizes what they love about Rockbridge County, Virginia.

The design represents the land and sky of the Lexington VA area.   The circular and star patterns in the middle have a dual meaning.  At one level, they depict the two main patterns of  “Lexington Brick” that paved the streets here in the late nineteenth century.  (These brick can still be seen in sidewalks around town.)   However, these two blocks also represent the two large hills that make up our area’s famed House Mountain.

This unit is also a good example of the “triple glazed” or insulated glass unit (IGU) construction that we can do for exterior doors and windows.  Each side of the stained glass is protected by a clear tempered glass layer for superior security, insulation value and long life.
