Karla created this piece by first fusing a blank of dark glass with a rainbow iridized top surface.

She then created and applied a mask to the top of the blank.   She then carved the exposed glass with a sand blast process.

After the mask was removed and the piece cleaned, it was put through the kiln again to slump and seal the etched areas.

A long process, but a beautiful result.
