Description
This is a large platter created with a process called “pattern flow slab.” Karla cut and stacked the pastel colored (green, purple, yellow) glass in a thick pile and fired the kiln. Then during fusing, the glass flowed into thin layers. She then took the large blank and sliced it with a diamond saw, and laid the slices side by side. After re-fusing and slumping in a curving mold, this amazing piece emerged. It’s large enough for serving a main course, but it also looks great as a display piece.
